In any acquisition, lay-off is pretty much unavoidable.
Here is my prediction...
- WD eventually will get their hands on Toshiba's NAND. Without Toshiba NAND, and steady supply of NAND, WD is doomed.
-Once WD get a hold on Toshiba's memory business (Toshiba Memory Corp (JP) and Toshiba Memory America (US)) by next March at the latest, layoff from TMC/TMA side will be fast and painful.
TMC/TMA's H/W Groups - gone
TMC/TMA F/W Groups - gone
TMC/TMA Validation Groups @ Folsom - gone
TMC/TMA Marketing Groups - gone
TMC/TMA HR - gone
TMC/TMA Finance Group - gone
TMC/TMA ASIC Groups - gone
Any layoffs happened in northern california this weekend? Sandisk side? How many?
according to credible source, it all depends on TOSHIBA acquisition.
If we got TOSHIBA, layoff is not avoidable.
Definitely the last 3 month have passed, to add to the previous comment.
I've talked to my VP - he's always sincere (either says no or no comment). This time it's a NO.
