Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

Sad times for good people

I was so fortunate to get out of this system, but was sad to leave so many behind who felt like they had no other option to stay in this economy. My particular Ai campus saw a lot of really good people get laid off in this endless restructure. What upsets me most is the effect these changes have on the students. I hope that those of you who were affected by last week's cuts find new jobs where you can also serve eager minds willing to learn.

You must be one of those "good " people.

Art Institute students are lazy and worthless. They're too stupid and incompetent to get a job. So they blame the school and industry instead. The instructors are even worse.

WHm.

Your words are the closest thing to heartfelt I've read on this site in a long time.

It very often seems that when a company is in the process of dismantling so many that should have been gone long ago remain to continue to work their mischief.

Not all but some of those in key positions at EDMC are some the most malevolent, callous drones who have an axe to grind against students and faculty. How they weaseled their way into any educational setting only speaks to the enticement and sorry state of for-profit education. Expensive and sub-par with Goldman Sachs and KKR and their minions at the helm would have it no other way. Thus the pending fire sale to DCF.

And yes, good luck in this economy.
