Lowes has no loyalty to its employees, pure and simple. They have been doing this restructure thing for years. Getting rid of knowledgeable employees, hiring some that can't tell a nail from a screw, paying them considerably less and if the truth be known without benefits. All this in trying to catch up with Home Depot and they aren't even close.

Ugh. More internet chatter around the Lowe's restructure. I've interviewed more times in the last 5mo than i have in the last 15 years I've worked here.

Niblock need to be lay off , no just because poor performance ideas , more because to grow a company they need new fresh people with more effective ideas . all companies need to refresh their CEO'S so new fresh , modern ideas help companies evolve . Mr Niblock is a old time Nazi who thinks every result achieve by Lowe's is because he vision, let me correct that Lowe's is what it is because their founders and the employees . those low pay employees that make thinks happening, they are the core of the company and the big corporate directors and manager are nothing just take big checks home , made mistakes and correct them by lay off people instead of generate more full time with benefits jobs , they don't about customer service is all fake . looks good on paper but really is just BS . lets increase corporate bonus at the end of the year ...

Lowe's is going down the same path as J.C Penney, Macy's and Sears. Getting rid of long time experienced employees to cut costs and benefits. It was an unsuccessful attempt for these retailers and Sears will be lucky to still be in business by years end. Lowe's seems to blame their poor service on the older more experienced employees. Eliminating them will not solve their problems. Home Depot still out performs Lowe's.

All these damn layoffs n cuts should all have started with Niblock an all the fat cats that work side by side with him an work down that tier thin it out an save the company alot of money ! The Lowes sales floor should be the last to be impacted they are doing this all backwards! The people on the sales floor the CSA are the ones that make an work hard to make the money an help the customers!

I worked for Lowes for only a year and a half and management is a joke. They pick and choose who is their favorited and treat everyone else like sh--. I especially didn't like it when the STORE Manager embarrassed me infront of a break room of employees and then fired me right after and couldn't even give me an answer as to why I was being fired. Lowes companies have literally become so screwed up no customers even want to shop there anymore they go elsewhere and how do I know that? They have had ME call competitors to set up appointments to meet them because Lowes couldn't do the job right. F--- Lowes and the piece of sh-- who runs the store I worked at. Sorry you can't play victim anymore 1817. Store of the year? What did the store Manager have to do to get that handed to him. And to the ASM's you say you're there for the employees but in the end all you're doing is kissing the head honchos a--. Have fun driving yourselves into the ground. Home Depot and Sears, ext. will hopefully soon take over

Robert Niblock has taken Lowes into the Sh--er! I have been a Lowes employee for 10yrs, it use to be a fun n happy place to work! Management use to be happy, use to look forward to going to work but not anymore! Niblock only cares about his own damn money n bonuses while the rest of us don't get any more pay raises, bonuses all we CSA's ever hear from management is a crock of excuses! We the people on the sales floor are the ones who are the faces of Lowes by dealing the customers an dealing with the customers being upset because lowes doesn't have enough red vests on the floor! Moral in the stores are very low. Niblock an the rest of the fat cats up in corporate need to pull there heads out of there butts! An realize that these changes are not for the customers ,to better serve the customers! The customers are pissed an leaving Lowes to shop at HD ! Lowes will always come in last behind Home Depot especially if you keep making these ridiculous changes!

My store is going to CPO in the fall. When they announce the close date, that's the day I start looking elsewhere. I've been with Lowes for 6 years and the last year has proved that I don't want to stay with a company who doesn't appreciate their employees. They'd rather fire all the full timers and get these part time kids who don't know jack sh--. Bye Lowes.

And this is why I'm leaving retail to become a drug counselor. No such thing as restructuring when mental and physical health is on the line!

Phase Three- Eliminate people that make sales

Phase Four- Close all stores, go to strictly online sales, go bankrupt like Sears.

The truth of the matter is, when a place like Lowe's needed to be personal, it was. Now, times are changing, and retail is changing along with it. Restructuring is all part of surviving. They will survive way past us. To you, it is family, people you spend 10 hours a day with, but the reality is, it's a job.

Time to fine tune that resume, or wait to get laid off and take advantage of your states displaced worker program and go back to school. Retail is not a career. Not anymore.

A lot of retail stores are suffering. Some people feel it is because of the ability to buy online. If a retailer can sell online, no need for an actual store front.

I'm not an economist, so who know the true reason.....perhaps greed?

Employment attorney needed... Would somebody be able to recommend me a really good employment attorney. I think I may have a really good chance of suing Lowes, my legal case is well documented and I would need a good attorney to put it together.

There is a number of cases where the laws were not followed as it relates to my employment, the management did not follow what is legally required. I don't want to go down this road but given the difficult situation they put me in I don't have to resort to legally pursuing my rights.

Within next 48 months we'll all be replaced by kiosks and input/output devices - welcome machine learning and artificial intelligence...

Check out Mickey D news today - they've announced that they are replacing cashiers with digital kiosks - the stock went thru the roof. Given their size, I'd say 100 to 150K people will lose jobs.

We are always a little behind.

Brace for impact. Go back to school. Learn about these machines.

Someone just posted this thread - @NUWCZKa .The article is about Lowe's future plans to boost the dividends even more. I tend to agree with OP, no way in hell they are going to achieve their plans without restructuring.

I heard this too. Today.

NObody can confirm this at this point - I've been on layoff.com long enough to know what I can trust (partially) and what to disregard.

It's a fine skill that you acquire over time - it depends on how the post is worded, what the reactions are, etc. Timing is also important.

Anyhow, we are almost there - we shall learn the truth soon!

Cannot go into specifics of how it's confirmed other than received direct communication. It's understandable to be skeptical. Updating one's resume is advised.

Confirmed on the LP side. High risk level stores may not see much of an impact if at all, but the stores with RL 4-1 will. Good luck to everyone affected by the upcoming changes.

Here we go again. We can not keep cutting these positions. What do they want? A store manager (who does not work) and 3 other poor souls to run a store. Well actually it could probably be done, since there will be "NO" customers. You have to spend money to make it. Old saying still stands. I hate Lowes. We use to be family. Now it's all so fake. Yes it is a business to make money. But it's not. Was at Sears yesterday. It's on it's last week being open. The store was so big and empty. It made me feel sad. Lowes will the same one day. What went wrong? Who took over and messed it all up. We were making money. People were working and laughing. Now everybody is sad,mad and don't even care. Everybody is kissing a-- so they are not next to go. But they are. Who came in and messed it all up? Lowes was my family for 20 years. I quit last month. To depressing to even want to show up. How many families will have to suffer while they restructure their own mistakes ?
