During a conference call last week our MM announced that we would continue to go into WalMart right up to the end in August (as I'm sure you all already know) so that we could "partner" with their associates by sharing our merchandising knowledge. In other words, we are now expected to train the schmucks who are taking our jobs away from us.
Well, I got a little taste of just how badly that is going to work yesterday. I was going through the top stock when an associate came into the aisle with a ladder cart which had some of our stuff on it. A couple of minutes later, he had a case of Chips D Gripz in his hand and was standing in front of Nabisco's lunchbox section looking perplexed. I said "Four feet down, top shelf, right next to that orange package." (The variety Gripz) He grunted what may have been "Thanks" and moved down. He put one package on the shelf standing up (the mod calls for them to be stocked the long way, just like the boxes to either side AND the rest of the entire section) I mentioned this and showed him the way they go. He proceeded to stock the case the wrong way despite my "partnering" with him. He said something about worrying about doing it the other way if he had a second case.
F--- "partnering" with WalMart.
