Zenith Announces WyoTech Scholarships For National Guard Members

Zenith Education Group recently announced they would be awarding $200,000 in scholarships to National Guard Members at the Laramie and Daytona WyoTech campuses. The Blairsville campus was mysteriously missing from the WyoTech campuses listed. Could this indicate the future of the Blairsville campus? It's been rumored for over a year that a consolidation of the Laramie and Blairsville WyoTechs were in the works and this scholarship announcement may hold the answer to that rumor. Hmmm

WyoTech Blairsville down to 200 students, lowest population since it opened. What is going on, are we closing? Haven't heard anything from management but they look worried and won't directly answer questions. Why aren't we aren't included in the National Guard scholarships? It only applies to Laramie and Daytona. Does anyone have any real information on what is going on?

Wow, registration yesterday and a new start today and where are the students? We dropped in population by at least 100 students. Not gonna cut it with 250 students. The rumor about closing is looking like it may be the truth after all.

8nlg, you may be thinking about when WyoTech tried to give veterans a discounted tuition and it was deemed illegal because it discriminated against non veterans so Steve Whitson gave the veterans FREE housing. It was a move to lure the veterans to WyoTech to get that VA benefit cash. It's all about preying on the veterans and grabbing that government cash. It's a shame the veterans don't realize they are nothing by guaranteed money for WyoTech and nothing more. The instructors laugh and joke about the veterans and their PTSD all the time.

For the last 8 years WyoTech has relied on the VA money to keep the doors open. They preyed on the veterans to the point that 70% of the student body were veterans using their VA benefits. New enrollments have hit an all time low so it's time to prey on the National Guard to keep the cash rolling in. We used to sit in meetings and laugh about all the money we were taking from the Veterans Administration and how the military was paying for our house and new cars. The most profitable was preying on the veterans with some type of disability because they were covered 100% and we could get them to sign up for add on classes. We were able to convince many of them to take every class we offered because it was 100% paid for by the VA. We had veterans that spent up to 3 years on campus taking classes they would never use because they were collecting disability from the VA. It is one the most profitable scams there is and now we're after the Nation Guard members for their CASH. Gotta keep the pay checks rolling in here in Laramie and at Daytona. Too bad Blairsville is closing or they could be reaping the benefits also.

I believe when WyoTech was under Cci, something like this was done for the military. How do you think that worked out???

Can't keep the schools open without students. The entire higher education system is in shambles and the private schools are getting hit the hardest. The only thing keeping Zenith going is ECMC loan collections and Zenith Education Group students are some of their best customers.

We keep closing schools and the same incompetent admissions leaders remain in place. If MN wanted students they would not have knuckleheads in these key admission roles.

Yes, Blairsville WyoTech is closing and consolidating with the Laramie campus. Will not be accepting new enrollments after July start.

This is the carrot to pull them in. They would be wise to go anywhere else and get a real degree or trade school certificate. The Zenith group is not the place.

Well, they are quietly shutting down Everest Online. Not many heard about it until someone said it was listed on their website. Don't know how they can keep each campus running with only 300 students.
