Outsourcing Deal Between Lloyds Banking Group and IBM

I am going to be affected by an outsourcing deal between Lloyds Banking Group and IBM. How I will be affected is still not clear. Lloyds management and our union are not saying very much publicly about how this deal is going to work. So I am seeking input from Lloyds employees and IBM employees to help close the gap. Are other forums better choices for achieving my objectives?

Thank you to the 2 people who posted replies. These are very helpful. I also posted my message on the Lloyds layoffs board but none have replied so far. My Lloyds post is at: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/NNuh9y9

I worked at IBM for 3 months this year as the result of another outsourcing. The majority of the staff was let go after having been told to seek internal positions. I sent my time on external job boards and happily left.

Some jobs remained to help manage relationships between IBM and the client, but the real work is rapidly being sent overseas. Pretty sure the only reason they didn't hit the IT staff harder is they missed some of the client's client requirements (no foreign access, no storage overseas, etc) so they had to get the data segregated prior to being able to cut staff.

Just my two cents but no one appeared to be honest about anything, it was a gut feeling and nothing I could prove. Luckily I landed a better job elsewhere in the time I was looking.

I've worked at IBM (UK) for almost 20 years and can tell you that, like every other company who've been outsourced, your roles will gradually be phased to a third-world region and you'll at best, be encouraged to apply for non-existent jobs elsewhere in the organisation. If you're approaching or over 50 years old, be extra vigilant. I just hope that your redundancy terms and conditions were TUPEd as since 2016, IBM pay only the statutory minimum. You'll eventually be encouraged to "harmonise" your T&Cs and the best advice I can give to you is DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I realise this is unpalatable but unfortunately it's now reality in this unethical company where we now live or die for each quarterly result and client satisfaction is a poor third to executive compensation and the IBM stock price. If you don't believe any of this, ask one of the hundreds of WPP employees who've been let go over the last three years!
