Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Microfocus spinoff vs dxc vs hpe

Does anyone think the MF spinoff could come out as the most successful entity out of the three mentioned?

Dxc is a disaster and it seems MW is getting ready to take HPE private. The Microfocus venture can't do worse than these two, can it?

@NMW85g0-7doi, interesting how your statement of the "people" at MF are good people. I don't think ANYONE on this forum would dispute the "people" aka the actual "worker bees" are NOT good.

The bottom line is that the "bad leadership" will throw MF (or soon to be merged HPE) people (worker bees) under the bus (so to speak) comes September 1st if not sooner! The unethical strategy (leadership) is to form a new entity(company) to get away with having to pay a decent severence package. I hope people at MF or soon to be merged HP will not get "SCR@@WD"!

MF does have a deservedly bad reputation from one of its acquisitions in the past. That license milking machine process (and people) have been dismantled but it takes time for the reputation to change. I am absolutely agreeing that this WAS the situation, it is no longer the case.

And I would also mention that its worth connecting with actual MF employees too. Having spent time with a number of them from different parts of the business you will get a very different picture than that on Glassdoor (which isnt as bad as it looks anyway). Feedback from current MF employees has been positive and they run a pretty good organization with decent bonuses and benefits. Most people stay for some time, which is pretty good (not excellent). However, thats not necessarily across all businesses though. Some were collapsing before MF bought them and yes, more layoffs had to occur. For every 5 MF people I have met, 1 is disgruntled. Not a great percentage, but far from the 'graveyard' impression that everyone tells.

I would encourage anyone to do your own due diligence and not to necessarily rely on random anonymous crap on the internet (including my comments!).

September 1st will be the start of massive WFR.. post merger (or acquisition of MF /HP). It happened at DXC post merger on April 1st (or acquisition of CSC/HPE)

Yeah no. I'm part of the organization that is going to MicroFocus/Ent-It SW LLC. There is severe mismanagement happening and no one knows what the hell is going on, who works for who, it's a sh--show nightmare.

I'm in order management. Our new director completely dismantled our workflow process that had us at an order TAT of 4 hours or less and we had dedicated sales districts to support. Now we all share a queue, pick our work, the Mexicans on my team aren't doing their share anymore, and now order TAT is 4 DAYS. Why? I'm not really sure. But our sales teams and customers are upset and lost. So yeah, we'll see how long MF lasts when the order management team is a flaming dumpster fire.

MicroFocus wants to improve profit margins from 2x% to 41%.

Now lets all have a guess how they will achieve that...

Hint: not so much by innovation (well that brings them in line with HPE or HP)

If you are in HPE software and don't work in India, Rumania, Costa Rica or other low-cost countries: look for something else now.

MF will be the 6th (recent slides now reflect 7th) largest pure-play software company in the world! Is that not enough to convince you to stay only to get laid off by MF during the holiday season? MF is a graveyard for software.

If past history has not provided you with any indication, then here is the reality. The technology section today is much like the finance industry in the 90's. Spin off or mergers to prove profitability when there is no more $$ to be made.

MW knows nothing about technology but she knows how to "chop" HP into pieces and "match making". By doing so she "boost" up shareholders confidence in her (and the Board). By continuing WFRs, she makes the "pieces/remants" look attractive for acquisition. There is no job security but to be "seating ducks" waiting for the next round of WFR if you chose to "pledge" loyalty ...

I think they're all doing just fine... better once they go private and my stock jumps. You guys seem all miserable working there anyway, so what do you care if laid off?

Microfocus is the equivalent of a private equity firm for software that buys companies to milk them for licensing contracts and does just enough to keel customers with no innovation. If you looked at their employee reviews on glassdoor.com you will see.
