So about 4 months ago Staples laid off a huge amount of individuals. Some of these individuals being with the company for over 20 years! What ever happened to "loyalty" or having experience? Where any of the H1N Visa's let go? Just wondering. Bonuses where given. Why? Why would a company lay off that many people and then give out bonuses especially when the company is not performing at all! Yes, I was one of them that was let go on February 10th. I have yet to find another position - it is almost impossible to get a phone call from a business that has job openings. Staples messed up a lot of people's lives on this day! And do they care? Not in the least! They will be selling off and most likely soon so the executives can receive their golden parachutes. I am glad that I no longer work for the company. After the way they treated us, I would never go back. You could not pay me a million dollars to work for them. I feel sorry for the people that are still there. Some still like their jobs, but many are walking on eggshells.

Exactly - everything is blamed on associates and not the C-level.
The execs know the company is tanking. They do not care. Their main concern is limiting severance payments to associates so there is more cash bonuses for them.
Execs should not have received bonuses ...though I do have no objections to those who ran profitable stores or departments.
Bottom line is Staples is a sinking ship and the execs are looting what they can and then jumping on the lifeboats.

I'll tell you why. Because the people that run this company are the bottom feeders of big business in this country. They are fools with about as much direction as a door knob. They will do anything including destroying people's lives and reputations. They will do anything they can at the meetings with all of the other "smartest guys in the room" to get as much of the loot as they can. The only thing on their mind is taking as much money as they can and getting off the sinking ship with it. Their own mothers could be drowning and they would grab the money over their mothers. The biggest lying creeps in all of America. ( White House exempt of course) Nobody at the top will suffer much. They will all just shake hands at the end and say "we tried" but the associates failed to make the place survive...what time is tee time tomorrow? See you at the country club." Any management who thinks this place is going to survive and tries to say it's just some rebranding phase we are going through to associates, is simply doing the only thing they know how to do. Lie. They are very good at. It's pro time!
