This pass week many techs quit. Many have gone to work for chartervision. Not sure how much of it is true. but if it is I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand Iam happy you escaped the hell that is Altice/ATS. but on the other if your going over there to be a scab and step on striking spectrum techs than thats very wrong. In the long run you hurt all technicians including yourself. Last I heard spectrum was offering techs 40 an hour to come over if this is true and you jumped on that carrot know that IBEW IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE. they may lose this fight and have to concede to spectrum demands but when it's over you will be remembered as a scab and kicked to the curb once the striking workforce returns.
Know that all the managers and supervisors that left cablevision for spectrum are bringing the same playbook to spectrum your being used. I understand we all have mouths to feed but stepping on those fighting to keep what little is left is just wrong.
Again don't know if any of this is true. I hope it's not. Anyway good luck to all techs across all footprints and companies. It seems the nightmare is far from over. Iam one of the few remaining survivors of the Altice takeover. Living day to day, no future, no career. Just holding on to an hourly rate I know I won't see anywhere else for as long as I can. I fought for union so many times and lost more times than I care to admit here in the Bronx depot. Now I Watch good friends leave on a weekly basis to spectrum and it bothers me. Unless your going over there to join the fight what your doing is just wrong. But that's for you to deal with if you have any conscious at all.
