Dividents in Question - Buy Backs on Hold - Are We Going After Pensions now?

It's a long list of things that are going wrong. Do we think they (GE mgmt) will magically be able to turn things around?

I doubt it, it's all about bonuses for them, they just need an extra year or two (each of them) to fill coffers with millions and jet.

So sad!

Are pensions really underfunded by $25 Billion? About two Alstom purchases?

Predix kept crashing our computer system and simply would not work so we deleted completely. Loaded a competitor product and worked perfectly the first time. If GE is banking on Predix, get your resume ready.

Predix is a joke and is far behind its competitors. Typical conglomerate business plan - dump massive money into a program and hope it works. There are private companies that offer far better products for less money. GE is trying to capitalize on their name brand that once was known for quality. Now known for crap. And GE continues to deliver on the expected crap. Gas turbines are failing and Predix will be a failure.

The underfunded status of GE’s principal pension plan was $25.6 billion on December 31, 2016, compared to $23.0 billion a year ago. Pension has already been eliminated for recently hired GE employees. GE cannot afford the pension and will have to eliminate it.

Worked for GE for 7 years after graduation. Being forced out, still don't want to see GE going downwards. There are a lot of people who don't do anything except s---ing up, but there are also a lot of very talented and smart people there.

Cutting dividends is the kiss of death. The stock will take even more of a beating. Imagine not only paying out variable incentive comp at a time of extreme cash flow problems, but increasing the target payout for next year. What does that tell you about GE management? Predix and its blue smoke and mirrors will not save GE. Many investors have already dumped GE stock. It will likely get worse.
