Thread regarding ADP layoffs

You get what you give

If you don't think ADP aggressively lays off employees that have health issues you have your head in the sand. I worked for ADP for over 5 years with a steady progression in responsibilities including multiple promotions but when I began suffering and eventually diagnosed with a SERIOUS health problem and had to endure regular treatments that were hell (which of course impacted my attendance) they decided to "reorganize" and I got laid off. I asked if they could at least leave me on the insurance for a few months to help bridge the gap and they said, and I quote exactly, "We are not in the business of providing charitable care for former employees." I wish I was making this up! Coincidently the job that was eliminated (my job) amazingly was resisted as open on the careers section of ADP.com and eventually filled just a couple of months later.

I would give more info but would prefer to keep my anonymity for obvious reasons. Hard lesson to learn that loyalty isn't a two way street with ADP and it certainly forever changed the way I look at my relationship with future employers.

However, I do believe that you "get what you give" and the people that discarded me like trash at a time when I needed them to reciprocate the loyalty I had shown them will eventually "get what they give."

Yes. So funny how they dropped the stats and the metrics with three months until performance reviews. In my opinion, the new hires or even associates here two years could never meet these metrics. Then when they tell us how the metrics are going away they admit no one was meeting them.

After 27 very successful years at ADP, I am walking before my layoff. The culture has changed dramatically with our latest CEO. Home-shored employees are asked to move to a state with one of the new southern mega centers, else be layed off. The focus of the layoffs are older employees and long term employees. Tech support specialist are travelling to train new tech support staff, and have been told come July 1 2017, they will know whether they still have a job or not.

If you aren't located in the geographic areas that are now the focus then you will be let go. Nothing to do with performance you just make too much money and ADP is more interested in getting rid of tenured people with experience who have contributed and earned what they make than retaining the expertise. Sad but true, they do not care about you if you aren't in El Paso, Norfolk, etc...it's all about saving money that they pay out for labor.

ADP will reap what they sow. They continue to do wrong to many people.

Sorry to hear that ADP discarded you. They discarded me as well. However, the reason that they got rid of us was not due to performance problems but because we were making too much money (in their opinion).

ADP is in the process of terminating it's veteran employees and replacing them with much cheaper workers. You may feel bad about being let go, but don't feel bad about "not being productive enough". That just isn't true.

I worked for them for 15 plus years and was discarded like garbage. I always went the extra mile for the clients. I never had any performance issues. Suddenly, was no productive and was told about it. Nothing was ever done to help me be more productive, and I was let go. Funny how now those stats are not being looked at anymore.
