Many more than twelve I think. There were 8 in radiology product development alone.
Condolences to some of the people let go. I'm sure half of you deserved it and the other half didn't. Let's be honest. The future is brighter outside of McKesson though and I hope that you are able to find meaningful, fulfilling work.
I left on my own awhile ago. I tried really really hard to get laid off. Just goes to show you what BS ratings are. Once I took the time to evaluate what else I could do outside the comfortable McKesson nest, the job offers came fast and furious.
The healthcare industry can be rewarding, allowing you to do good work that will help people, but we all know the deal with McKesson.
If you feel stuck just take the time to relax, don't focus on what you did for the last 10 years, think about what you WANT to do, then start knocking on doors. You having nothing to lose. What you think of doing next week change as you start interviewing but you will end up at a place your are happy with.
Until IWS gets an enema, look for a place where your work really matters.
