Caught wind of layoffs coming tomorrow. Can anyone confirm for Chamberlain and DeVry? Need to know, I have a family to support....

Will they lose their tuition reimbursement? Sad not to graduate

When they lay you off they give the speech that they need to reduce some positions to do a cost realignment and you happen to be one of them. Usually HR is there with them when they give their little speech and then they let HR take over to tell you about some information on how the severance process works. I have known several now that have been let go and it's the same speech it sounds like every time, like they work from a script. Those who are left have to absorb the work sometimes at the locations or it's taken over by Online Services.
All I know is that the people I have known who have been let go seem a lot happier when they are out of this place. Like being unemployed is better than being here. Guess selling your soul to screw over students and offer mediocre, overpriced "education" wears on some after awhile. That should say something.
When the layoff happens, what is the reason or strategy given? Do they say they expect everyone to pick up the slack, or that the work is being combined with _ operations? Some of the students get very upset with the layoffs---what do you tell them at your location?
When your money makers are the ones being let go, there is a big problem. Lay offs start there and then move on to student services, registrar, etc. Everywhere but the lackluster or downright incompetent management. Guess CARE and TEACH values don't apply to them. This place is such a joke.
Eliminating entire admissions teams is insane and should be an eye opener for the rest of the operations staff, aka, the "non-nurses." Chamberlain "Care" is truly laughable. It's ok though...lets cut staff and not focus on declining NCLEX scores. Chamberlain has more cities that need a campus! It will be all the buzz...we will have awesome webinars where we cheer and sip sparkling grape juice...until it is determined that your position should be cut to save money. Everyone deserves better than that place! Get out while you can!
Any bets on when the next reorg is coming?
No one is safe. Per the call filing:
"This process of adjusting staffing costs will continue into the near-term as management continually evaluates needs based on enrollment trends. This may result in future staff reductions as well as management realignment." Maybe they should switch that and get rid of some useless managers who are deadweight on the org?
All admissions in Indy
Any idea of how many were let go and from where?
All of the Troy campus admissions staff was let go today I heard.

What positions were eliminated at Chamberlain?
@N7AdUMN-1mye, why is Chamberlain taking a hit when they are the most profitable part of Devry?

Layoffs happened today at Chamberlain
Looks like no layoffs today.
Well, based on the investor call today...if not tomorrow it will be soon. They provided guidance regarding a $10M restructuring fee in place for the new quarter. Would assume most of it will be DVU.
