I am so glad that Staples is telling the world "it's pro time." Now if the site were only up and functioning they would be real pros. Good job FM. Keep up the good work pro.

"The person who came up with it is now the CMO of Intel and was named a "Brand Genius" by AdWeek in 2016 for his work there. http://www.adweek.com/brand-marketing/adweek-announces-winners-2016-brand-genius-awards-173037/"

Well if that's the case we should pay even more for this ad campaign. Forget competitive pricing and C level officers who know how to run a company. Just hire some talent in the marketing department and all will be solved. Maybe Staples won't lose money this quarter. Wonder if this "person" would leave Intel and become the CMO of Staples. Hey Shira, here's another way to waste money that you haven't thought of. Give him a call.

Instead of acting like pros it should be cons. They want us all to be con artists and sell are customers a bunch of crap the don't need. Then they wonder why they don't come back.

Pros are competitive. Staples is not. I kept hearing how much cheaper it was to get the same items from Amazon, so I tried it. I put the exact same items in my cart on Staples.com and Amazon.com. Sure enough the Amazon cart was 28% less.

Shira has been the head leader in charge for almost a year. Has it gotten better? NO!!! Her lone C level hire has his cronies at the helm and they know less than him. Everyone worth anything is jumping ship. How about if we start with pros at the top? Starting with a new CEO and a CTO who understands IT. Then 'it's pro time.' Customers want competitive pricing and Staples you are an amateur at best.

It's Pro Time is suppose to be about the celebration of work ethic, according to a company spokes person. Hmmm except they have not celebrated work ethic in their own ranks for over a decade.

Someone mentioned there being nothing about physical stores. That is because "It's Pro Time" and the new brand narrative... aren't really FOR brick and mortar stores. BAM is the past. "It's Pro Time" is about the company's future, the shift to omni-channel and contract business.

There is Savage Chickens comic strip that I think works well here...

The text is:

-- We're planning a bold new direction for this company.*

-- *Translation: We're replacing all the old corporate buzzwords with new corporate buzzwords.

more like the pro's are going to leave.... moral is at < 40% and they'd rather change the branding then look at a problem. no wonder we were at 24 billion company and now an 18 billion.... in a few more years, guess will have to pay people to shop

I think Staples is the only company that changes there slogan every other year. Who came up with up " It's pro-time"? What does that actually mean?

So let's see.... it was "that was easy", "make more happen", and now "it's pro time."

Seems a bit convoluted. I think the reverse may make more sense, "it's pro time", "make more happen", thennn "that was easy." It hasn't been easy, we didn't make THAT much more happen, so I definitely don't think its "pro time."

Maybe minor league.

I'm a pro, but I'm hamstrung with incompetent leadership and strangled with institutional resistance to change. This re-branding reminds me of the TV preachers from the 80's. They sermonize fidelity and family values to the congregation, but are doing blow and f---ing strippers the rest of the week.

Yes. Show me where the pros are in this circus and I am all in. All I see are clowns, not pros.
