Don't think Williams would ever hire a layoff employee, that company doesn't have decency to do the right thing.

Nobody cares, they are just happy to have a job, use your head. Thats life!
Doubt that if it is legal, betcha most of those employees are over 40, yeah one signed a termination package waiving away financial rights, but age cannot be used as the basis for not rehiring somebody. It is a moot point because it will never be proven in court, lawyers will drag it out forevever.
It appears that some of those let go in the layoffs are being tagged as Not Eligible for Rehire by their last Manager. Those managers and HRBPs should have let those employees know this to their face on the exit day versus finding out from a potential employer. Horrible way to treat people but appears legal in Oklahoma.
Not aware of any over 50 being rehired
Where any of the rehirez over 50?
Good.
Several have been rehired.
There have been a few who were rehired recently.
I will reapply, nothing to loss.
Noticed the culture. Bonus and promotions are handed out based on buzzwords, hype and promises, before results are completed. Those producing actual results are knickpitted to death, degrading the efforts.
Williams is compromised of a antiquated management culture of " gutless wonders" and plagiarizing wanna be " we love our employees" buzzwords. They are incapable of making decisive decision's and admitting mistakes - at any cost - even at the shareholders expense.
studies are showing that layoffs can actually cost the company more money than its saves them for various reasons. Of course in a case of a merger or permanent slowdown layoffs could save money. . From what I am seeing with all the hiring going on right now, it looks like these layoffs where somewhat overdone due to lack of coordination and utilization of resources internally, [empire building] and inability to project future business growth correctly did to excessive negativity.
And they wonder why employees aren't loyal to companies anymore. When employees see how companies show their true colors, in tough times, you really have to look out for yourself, no choice.
I heard they hired one, you really need have a lots of contacts though, it is my impression that are working against terminated employees in a number of not so nice ways. What I learning networking is really critical, they do black ball peolple and networking is an effective way to fight this. If you are older than 55 you are really in a dangerous situation, if you need money to pay for food, shelter and medical expenses.
