Thread regarding Walgreens Boots Alliance layoffs

Zero loyalty

We were told by our MVP a year and a half ago that 2/3 of all store managers would not make it. 1/3 would quit or retire. 1/3 would get fired. The last 1/3 would be ok. If you've noticed the trend so far it's been true. You just need to figure that anyone who makes more money than a starting SM is going away. Frozen ASMs making more than starting SMs now they've gone hourly. The SMs that are left or have any tenure with the company make too much money. Push wages back over 10 years. Remove all real bonuses based on real bottom line numbers. The push now is to clean house to cut expenses and prepare for the Rite Aid merger. All those SMs and Pharmacists will need positions. They are now cherry picking through us. Then they will cherry pick them. Cut, merge, and then will have employees who are "better" while paying them less. Just you land on the right side of the fence or your DM. Be prepared though because they have target numbers to hit. You should also be aware of exactly the type of manager they promoted to most of these positions. Zero loyalty to anyone but themselves. Very cutthroat types.

Walgreens used to be a great company to work for. They cared about store conditions, product in the stores and the employees.. since we were bought out by Boots, the only thing that matters is frontier and pulse meetings to make employees feel engaged..How can we do all this when it’s only you and one employee during your shift..A hour pulse meeting with 2 employees is very productive??? Not, but we are told that pulse meetings aren’t going away, only staff.. so let’s get on board.. Happy and healthy at Walgreens

Be very careful since they will fire store managers for any petty issue. Document everything, Take photos also because documentation stand up in court. Retail is changing try to improve your skill and keep your options open. There is no loyalty appreciation anymore, just do your 8 hours and leave take your breaks and find the work life balance call in sick for mental clarity sometimes take care of yourself first. THE COMPANY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR HAPPINESS ONLY PROFIT AND LOSS!
