In the late 1980's, CSX purchased and closed the old L & N shop in Louisville. My family got transferred to Corbin, but some of my uncles and their families were not as fortunate. Then over 200 men and women were laid off in Oct. 2015 in Corbin, Kentucky. They reported to work as usual, and then management showed up and closed the shop in just a few hours. My father was among them. He had only a few months until retirement. The local paper ran the story, but no on else seem to care that another business in Southeastern Kentucky, an already economically depressed area, closed. So, I honestly don't understand when it makes headlines that this company is doing what it has always done.

So true
It has more impact when they lay off IT and management as they post on sites like this and have acces to the mainstream media
