Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Low Unearned IPF

Working at Shell for years under my current manager who's always giving me a low IPF and can't never explain why. My performance review is top notch and my job duties haven't changed in years. I take care of issues where no one else can. I'm proactive on everything I do, and yet I get low IPFs. Some in my group transfered to other jobs after a short time. I'm hearing that he's known for doing that to his employees but only if you're not one of his "buddies". Talked to HR about it and they want me to talk to his supervisor, but I can't, because the two of them are old friends for many years and could mean the end of my career here. I always received good IPFs under my previous supervisor. It's hard to move to another position when your last few years IPFs are low. He's driving my career to the ground.

Low IPFs and "Open Resourcing" are just a means for the company to prevent lawsuits. They are abused by management to further internal nepotism. Good luck my friend, but once you are labeled "at risk," your days at Shell are numbered. Start looking ASAP.

Be awake means document all conversations and verify if words , behaviours and actions align with the written documentation.

Usually the verbal and written are not aligned and be awake if all communication is strictly through written communication

Being part of the solution entails the trust but verify motto

Mr 8ogh, you're missing the point. Don't be part of the problem, be part of the solution! Stay awake and pay attention

Love how they have to play these long drawn out political, bureaucratic games just to get rid of people they don't want.

The new trend is the old are fearful of young and hurt them by hoarding meaningful work and giving them low IPFs. They don't realize there is admire the link if the work is taken away or you are frozen out no surprise your supervisor will pass you off as low performer.

I say most Jg2 and 1 roles have too much overlap same with 3 and 2.

A 3 can lead teams and operate as per 2. Time for shell to keep pay bands the same but increase responsibility associated with the band.

Cut the fat 2 or 1 time to flatten out and be gone with fat

OP, you are far from being alone in your experience. Be thankful for what you have and value each paycheck as if it were your last.
