Thread regarding McKesson Corp. layoffs

3/31 Thread

Let's keep each other updated as events progress tomorrow. I know there are several BU's under layoff risk right now, despite the "end of days" for many of us EIS folks.

I'd like to compare notes.

@MzKo46S-1kan: I have no doubt that employee and customer data is being harvested by TCS. Don't forget that TCS recently lost a lawsuit for theft of intellectual property for stealing from Epic. Why would they stop there? Executives at McKesson who are pushing the off shoring agenda are either shockingly naive or intentionally stupid. Likewise for management. They have zero credibility and are just parrots at this point, waiting for their MIP bonuses.

There will be legal repercussions, though, I have no doubt. Once hospitals using our systems understand that the software is being maintained by off shore workers who can barely speak English, they'll likely reconsider their decision to go with the cheap vendor. You get what you paid for. Nimmy the Hyaena underestimates the rage seething in people who have built products for EIS over decades. It's only a matter of time before what's going on makes it out to the public forums.

For now, write your Congressmen, write to the Attorney General, and write to the President and his staff. It's time to end this. America first. Americans First!

What's ironic also, as soon as several HR functions went to India in 2016, several of my co-workers had identify theft. I seriously suspect they are not only selling McK employee data but also customer info. The government should be worried about HIPAA

McK made it out fine. They are cashing in on cheap Indian Labor. Why isn't the government investigating offshore companies ability to access patient privacy data overseas? Is that a violation of HIPAA act? McKesson lays off Americans for Indians. Obviously, the work is there, but, McKesson does not want to pay Americans and go with the cheap and untrained Indian option. McK makes me sick. Just wait till they 'can' all of the Indian Labor. It will happen. Past tends to repeat.

I don't think there were any surprises - Really sad day for EIS. Hope the rest of McKesson made it out okay.

Just heard "organizational realignment" made to the Operational Readiness Team in EIS. Not sure who or how many were affected.
