Thread regarding DeVry Inc. layoffs

How many of Chamberlain's schools are subpar?

Can anyone tell me how Chamberlain schools are doing in terms of NCLEX pass rates?

"...Chamberlain College of Nursing students learned of a new requirement from their for-profit school - they'd have to pass a cumulative test on the first try to receive their degrees and then take a stab at the national license exam. The change followed the Texas Board of Nursing's decision to forbid Chamberlain from enrolling new students..., citing years of recent graduates not passing the national examination at high enough rates."

@MvfaRww-1wez, a previous poster said the NCLEX pass rate was 81.32% for AA and BSN students combined. Was that a mistake? Also, have you seen anything about the graduation rates? The College Navigator has some numbers for individual campuses, but they are very incomplete.

Do not have 2016 numbers

'Not sure what you mean by type of degree? Students taking nclex are all pre - licensure (bsn) campus students

@MvfaRww-1xsj, do you know what the numbers are for 2016, and do you have a breakdown by type of degree? It looks like some of these schools have had declining NCLEX pass rates, and that the way to stem the decline is to be the gatekeeper: holding degrees hostage or just not conferring degrees to those who may not pass.

The National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX) is a national standardized examination for nursing licensure taken by graduates of pre-licensure nursing programs. Chamberlain College of Nursing’s 2015 combined national average NCLEX first-time pass rate for the Associate Degree in Nursing degree program and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program was 81.32%.

All I know is that if a nurse says they graduated from chamberlain, I'm going to ask for another nurse.

Wouldn't you only go to a school like this because it's easy to graduate?

@MvfaRww-oyy, Chamberlain never had a 90% NCLEX pass rate. Its just more DeVry deception. They struggle for 78% at most campuses, and the way they get to 78% is by holding degrees hostage. People are just starting to figure this out, and that's one reason why Chamberlain enrollment has been declining. When prospective students realize that its a crap shoot to graduate, they choose a lower cost alternative if they can. This leads to a downward spiral in (lower) graduation rates.

I don't know if 90% is some sort of Avg because the state by state stats I've seen have not been above 90%. They probably had it for one month 3 years ago and they still use that stat.

Chamberlain boasts of a 90% NCLEX pass rate--which is probably bogus. What they don't boast of is a 33% graduation rate.

Just Google what you are looking for and most states publicly release % rates of the NCLEX passing results.

No one from DVG is going to post these kind of statistics on here. Why the hell would someone try to help take down their own company? You think we want to be unemployed? We are disenchanted and disenfranchised with DVG, but still need the paychecks to live. Most of us, I assume, would rather take action to help students, rather than give Camden the ability to write an article that accomplishes nothing. This year's scores, and what Texas does as a result will speak for itself.

I think you have to search by states.
