Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I've been looking for a new gig, as well. Based on my Glassdoor profile, I should be making ~20% more than EMC is paying me. Even so, when I talk to recruiters about my expected rate, I get "Oh, thanks for letting me know," which I take to mean, "Hahahahahaha! LOLOLOLOL! Nice try."

As I understand it, our bonus this year is split between this July and next Feb. I'm sticking around because I want my July payout... If I get it. They may let me go before then, to save the payout and trim a week's compensation off my package, since my anniversary is around payout time.

I wouldn't put anything past them, at this point.

I have been looking for jobs on and off for the past 1 year, even before the deal is closed. Here is my analysis, there are great companies and cutting edge tools-technologies jobs out there. But no one is willing to pay me in greater Boston area even close to what I have been making at Dell, Nashua. Added this year bonus, ridiculous. Didn't even expect that kind of money. I am sticking around as long as I could, granted no job satisfaction but financial stability.

my director asked me for a 1:1 for later in the week. I knew what was coming and starting clearing my desk and laptop.

I can bet a dollar.......that every release going forward will be failure or substandard.

Current storage engineering I know are only focused on developing their skill set and browsing internet or time pass.

The layoffs have stopped. Keep focused on the tasks in front of you, and keep with the core values of the company. Its all about teamwork lets all keep a positive attitude.
