This is just Round 1 - I predict another 1 before the year is out. They need people to do the grunt work until the transition is complete. So you may be safe for now but be prepared. Unfortunately they are only looking at the data HR has on file....so if you didn't update career zone, and you haven't been able to get any recent training or you haven't taken the time to upload training documentation or if you had just so-so reviews because management doesn't believe in giving good reviews - "the theory there is always room for improvement"......you're screwed....add being over 50, and a long term employee and you are double-screwed. I've seen several cases where very talented experienced Employees have been let go. It appears to be mostly older long term employees where contractors In the same department have stayed on. I can understand if the full time employee is not doing a good job ..... but I know of one instance where the contractor is doing a crappy job and snowballing everyone - pencil whipping the records - and he was kept on while the long term employee who was documenting appropriately was let go. Do you know of any contractors that have been let go?
