This week, a few days ago (on Thursday 3/21/2017), main financial websites in Israel covered Teva layoffs story and they noted that there is a plan to lay off up to 6K workers - they actually gave a range (2K to 6K) but that's not the point. Anyhow, that'd be about up to 10% of the totalk workforce as we have 60K employees right now - Teva is the biggest company in Israel.
As things developed on Wed and today, there was a denial by the corp PR and communcations team - all what they said is that the cuts will not be that large but that we'll be working on:
-
Improving Efficiency
-
Consolidating Functions
-
Unwinding Profitable Activities
-
Freezing Employment
I am sure they will go after contractors too, there will be job reqs that will not get filled as well.
That's it for now, I have no other updates but there is a bit of confusion among folks who work there and there is a ton of anxiety as we await the ax to fall.
Good luck!
