Great company, worked there twice. Very inefficient with 2-3 people doing 1 person's job. Most projects couldn't be completed on time even with huge budgets.
Some departments could probably reduce their workforce by 10-15%.

What department was hit the most in Westheimer. Supply chain was barely hit
IT across the enterprise was done as of yesterday. IT contractors were called last night. Other departments are continuing today, but should wrap up today.
How many were let go in downtown Houston.
"Hardly, this company won't be around by the end of 2017..."
I'd like to know what makes you think this to be true. This is a $160B C$ company with access to huge amounts of capital. Even if every strategic decision went awry it would take years of mismanagement to truly bring it close to failure. Stable operations could carry it alone into the 2020's, and there's no evidence these cuts would hurt operations.
For today?
Maybe, but done for good?
Hardly, this company won't be around by the end of 2017, no matter what you're told.
Downtown Houston is done. Contractors will be notified by their vendors tonight.
in the west we have heard that the 22nd and 23rd were slated so I don't think it's quite all finished. I do believe the majority are done though. That's just what I'm hearing from people.
