I suspect they will eventually lay off all employees below a coordinators level ( them and above have sold their souls to Enbridge) and hire back contractors at 2/3 the wage with no benefits and pensions

It is an initiative spearheaded by every nation, with every known power figure you can name on board. The United Nations is among many of its supporters and they have now begun their initiative.
Their site lists the energy sources the world will use under this plan, and oil is not one of them. While you guys were fast asleep with your entitled, coddled lifestyle of guaranteed bonuses and pay raises, the world was getting ready to throw you under the bus.

We heard this morning that HR reserved all the conference rooms here downtown, no word on Westheimer
Where? Downtown or westheimee?
All I can do is offer the fact that I've been laid off before. (yes, I'm that old). It is horrible. But I try to remind myself that I survived and went on to find other meaningful employment. I know those affected will too! Hang in there. Very stressful week.
