I am sure they have figured out a way to save a few dollars by delaying the payout of bonuses by a week :)

Intel incompetence... Intel is fearful of announcing before AMD because undoubtedly AMD will have some great news that Intel is not aware of and Intel would risk looking foolish in its announcement by making typical bombastic Intel claims of MSS and growth that are fabrications. Along with Intel's decline there will also be investor lawsuits.

I wouldn't say this is a 'delay'. When new CFO Bob Swan took over, he decided to move his first earnings call (for 4Q16/2016) out by about 10 days, from ~Jan 18 to Jan 28. It looks like that is his general preference - there was no delay announcement, simply a new, later earnings call cadence. I'll agree he has more to spin than in prior years, but this is not a delay. AMD has its Annual Meeting on April 26, which implies their own earnings release just slightly before that day.

More time for spin control.

ACTs coming in Q2, likely as Q3 and Q4 numbers come in and TMG 10nm fantasy is burst and reality has to be baked into the books with several more great ACTs

Biz is too good, need more time to calculate the earnings! That's why many groups are spending like crazy!

They need more time to decide whether to ax 20 or 30k world-wide?
