Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Your boy goei

“We’re turning the screws a little more,” Goei said on the call. “We’re very thoughtful of how we spend the money.”

Much of that reduction was through redundancies – paring down to a single billing company and the like. While Goei said that some of the synergies were through voluntary employee separations, staff reductions haven’t played a major role in the cost cutting.

How the hell are fleet mechanics that are being let go at the end of the month redundant?

Public statements have been posted. Where it was stated since 1st quarter till now that this company has exceeded plans and financial expectations. Customers are paying for everything from various install charges, hefty phone jack wiring charges, hefty trouble call charges, insurance on wiring they own, to price increases on all equipment, to cost now on power cords, hdmi cables etc.. This company stated in previous years the cost of truck rolls (which is paying for itself now). While in one breath they state that there main focus is on customer experience. While these customers or getting shafted left and right with fees. Ignorance is bliss..

People these guys are animals and don't give 2 f's about u...

Not to discredit there vision but... Mind you a fact that inhouse techs took over installs and reduced the companies trouble calls to the lowest in its history... And they still trying to rock the boat on peopl that can shift this companies future!!!!!

There was 1 mechanic in Freeport that serviced over 120 vehicles. Can't cut much more there imo. Plus if jiffy lube services the trucks now, you can watch engines explode. Light bulbs, flats and simple repairs is what they fail to see. They are penny wise but dollar foolish. When that flat or turn signal downs a truck for safety and they have to wait to get a new truck it will be the customer who suffers with longer wait times.

Some critics have said that the only way to achieve its cost cutting goal is to decimate customer service. Goei said that couldn’t be further from the truth: “Why would we ever do that? Why would we ever make our customers unhappy that they would want to churn and go somewhere else? That’s not what we’re talking about. This is not about doing large cuts in the workforce.”
