Thread regarding Giant Eagle layoffs

"Voluntary", then what is next. I have seen this movie before.

Layoffs and hiring in the same area at the same time? Many of the same quotes as last fall. we have x number of employees in the entire area so this results in such a small percentage.

I doubt the remaining 1/3 will be voluntary.

I was told they only got about 2/3 of the desired number, so they may extend this 'voluntary seperation' to other employees.

Funny how they act so grand and pompous about helping people transition into retirement, but deny other team members with the same seniority. Out of the goodness of their heart. Who is kidding who. It is part of a long range plan.

You sure did see that movie before, it is called "The Titanic". Can anyone hear the band playing??? Better yet, I think I hear the Fat , oh wait, need to be GE PC, "The larger built" Lady warming up. Maybe there should be a BRG group for her and the band. That will save them.
