Thread regarding FMC Technologies Inc. layoffs

The Butthurt....

..... runs deep among these pages.

Honestly, if you get laid off, which is extremely possible, move on. What's the point of frequenting these pages, whining about this and that, Bubba this, Bubba that, etc.

Oil dropped from $130 a barrel to $29. Anyone with an IQ above 70 knows what that brings. Layoffs. Also, anyone that feels they were laid off unfairly and someone else should have been let go before them, understand that you weren't liked and your skills weren't enough to make up for your annoying personality. Real talk.

"Life isn't fair" is trumped by "what goes around comes around" and it's coming around now !

This is somewhat true.

You are definitely an immature and inexperienced individual saved since your are cheaper.

There were many people who did as FMC preaches. Using the career compass as a guide to be better for the company and switched positions before oil even dropped.

These are the same employees who were the first sent home because they were new to that group (not company).

Dedicated employees with family to care for, kids to feed and serious pre-existing medical conditions to treat. 10 and 15 plus yrs of experience. Don't Judge.

Yes we have to deal with it but where goes the "Valuing People and Integrity"? Or "Hire the best, train the best and Retain the Best"?

When Karma comes calling, it will be something to see.

Some people with intelligence and good work ethics were let go yet. Some lazy morons are still here. Yes life is unfair. We deal with it. But you have to notice and at least say something even if nothing comes from it. When oil comes back and it will then the lazy morons will beg the smart ones to come back. They may just go to the competition. A with big t$$$

I think it's absurd that these idiots get 30 days to find a new job but the technicians don't get the same option or treatment it is a idiotic double standard they should get laid off like every other technician they shouldn't get special treatment and just saying they couldn't even manage a Home Depot now on to the next f up like we get treated like criminals because security can't even do their job

You are somewhat right, GENPARK is a series of frats. A lot of people were laid off under the right circumstances, but there were some that just weren't friends with the right people. But if you have the right title you get 30 days to find another position and go screw up another department, instead of being walked out like the other expendables. Experience means nothing.....

You are exactly correct. FMC management makes the decisions about who stays and who goes solely based on someone's personality and whether or not the fit in with those in power. Has nothing to do with the skill level or contributions made to the company. If you are a "yes sir" to everything then you have a great personality and you stay. Disagree with anything and then you are considered to have a poor personality and you are gone.
