Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Stop complaining about your raises

. Really, from what my old colleagues are saying, it's pretty much what.everyone else is getting elsewhere.unless you are at Google Facebook etc.

Qualcomm does 6months review cycles and unless you work for corp r and d, the raises are about the same.

Best way to get a raise is to hop jobs and get your 20-25% bump, if you aren't an old geezer with outdated skills.

Second best way to get a raise is to spend more time investing and less time working in front of a terminal...Your tax on W-2 income makes the difference between getting say 3% or 6% virtually indisintguishable...except maybe a few extra cups of Starbucks frapicino, which you end having to spend extra money going to a gym to work off anyway.

Besides the ego boost of telling your peers you got 6% versus 3%, you won't really notice it after taxes.

It's not just about one year.

Getting three 6% raises in a row is a HUGE difference over getting three 3% raises in a row.

Work 80 hours a week to get 2.5%, sleepless nights answer pages and preparing for useless daily reviews form @nal untrusting managers is great.

Got to do exactly as corporate VP demands for every process change micro managing everyone as the Titanic sinks.

No wonder TMG and intel overall going down the tubes!
