Im a "victim" of the recent Kelloggs layoff program. (Found out courtesy of a conference call.) Im not upset. Just one door closed in lieu of another (and better) one opened. I will say that my short experience working for Kelloggs as a PTM (Part Time Merchandiser) was not what i was hoping for. I should have seen the "sign" from the first month. At no time during the interview nor hiring process was i ever informed that i was working for a "temp" agency. I learned of this, to my surprise, trying to reach out to Kelloggs . I was told i was not in their system. (this almost two weeks into my employment). It took me almost a month to receive my first paycheck. I accepted the job as a "foot in the door", looking for a full time sales opportunity....which never became available (hindsight). Required to use my personal vehicle to travel to various stores, receiving no compensation for gas nor mileage. Required to use my personal phone (and data) to download an app, that tracked the stores i was to service that day. (threatened with non pay or termination if not compliant using the app) I will say i did receive a check for $25 a month for that. Very physically demanding work. Having to act as liaison between the territory sales rep who ordered the product and the store management inquiring as to why certain product was delivered but not previously authorized . Directly after the layoff news, i decided to be proactive in moving foward with another opportunity....in spite of the miniscule monthly "reward/bonus" for staying until the "transition" was completed by September 2017. Good luck to the rest of my former collegues. Please look for the nearest life boat. Yet again, another "corporate america divorce" from its loyal and faithful partner.
