Translation: I smoked by bosses' poles all year and all I got was a couple of grand. LOL
There is a pay range for each grade that spans enough range that it overlaps usually the grade above and below.
Q0 means you are in the bottom 25 of all pay range for that grade ( means likely Q3/Q4 of the lower grade may make as much to more than you )
Q4 means you are in the top 25% of the pay range for that grade and likely make more than Q0/Q4 of the grade above you.
Thus Q0/Q1 should get above average raises and those in Q3/Q4 should get less for the respective rating.
Meritocracy at its best, you compete and then your manager ranks you against your peers, then your pays is compared against your peers, and your raise is commensurate to not only your rating but your relative pay to peers.
GPTW is intel with "average" pay but above average profits for the senior executives!
What do you mean by Q1/Q0?
Every manager only gets "the budget" so the favorites that get O/E with range from 7-15% will make out good, and then the rest their big inflation beating 2-3%.
Of course let's not forget the 3-5 percent that will be IR and get nothing.
Gone are the days one can look at intel as a good wage and bright future. BK ruining the company and spend all the cash on another failure

Gvk, it's better to leave intel, you're not going to get VSP wth an EE. You are paying a premium to be at intel, is it worth it? If you can get a better job elsewhere and it's worth changing, then do it. If it isn't, then you value staying at intel over other options.

Explanation: I am in Q1. Others in my grade in my team are in Q0, so even though they got only S ratings, the Focal tool guidance was high for them.
So much for meritocracy. Last time that I worked hard for a good rating. From now on, I just wait for my VSP.
