Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Ballsy Executives

This is so pathetic. I wonder how executives at HPE and/or DXC have the nerve to get up in front of employees at any level and spew un-truths about the company. There compensation must make them think they are so immune to anything negative said or which is occurring. Odd thing is they must have some mental defect to put on such are charming face with all this turmoil around them. One should pose or ask the question if they are worth the compensation they are being paid. All the little dumplings with no backbone won't dare ask. As for those people remaining my question to you is why don't you all quit at the same time and create one big mess

Yes, it is common knowledge... However, just go ahead and try to ask your HPE manager "do you guys use forced distribution performance reviews"? 99.9999% of them will deny it, per commandments from on high, last I heard... If they WILL speak the truth, then they have already been laid off, themselves, or, they will caution you to NOT repeat what they said, per the commandments on high, or else, they will be in trouble... The only truth-speakers, generally, are those who have been laid off!

What is there to lie about forced distribution performance reviews? I thought that was common knowledge. Unless there's even more evil to it?!

And don't forget, at HPE, ALL of the management (even the bottom-most layers) are required to lie about the "forced distribution" performance reviews, which they say don't exist, but EVERYONE (and I mean EVERYONE, including all the management consultants and web sites out there, that write about these things) knows, are exactly what they are.

If you accept the basic premise that most flat-out lying is evil, then being ANY manager at HPE means that at least SOME evil is officially required of you!

It's part of the job. Even lowly managers need to "bend the truth" sometimes because they'll hurt the team if they're 100% honest. That said, you can definitely take it to the extreme..

It isn't ballsy, it is just that they are expected to get and and spout the party (sorry, company) line. Deep down, really deep down they know the real score but you will never get one of them to admit it, at least outside of a private, one-to-one conversation.

Are they worth their compensation? It's hard to judge because we don't know what most of them actually DO all day. There are 8 layers of management and only the bottom one or two actually bring any money in, so what are the rest doing? I accept the need for a management structure in a larger company but 8 levels seems a few too many to me.
