Staples plants stake in Amazon’s backyard, opens engineering center in Seattle

by John Cook on June 5, 2014 at 5:00 am-

Masud, who was recruited to Amazon in 2002, said Seattle is a natural place for the company’s expansion.

“It is pretty clear to us that the supply of folks in Framingham, Massachusetts is a little bit lower than what we can do in Seattle, Washington,” said Masud. “The talent pool is very strong here.”

Looks like it is coming true. Outsource GT. He could be the next CEO. Apparently the people in Framingham are, "a little bit lower" than the caliber of Seattle. We were warned in 2014.

More PM's let go this week. This is the way to profitability. Fire as many as you can and outsource the rest. Wouldn't it just be easier if Amazon acquired Staples? Soon there won't be anyone left.

"FM has his own agenda he will destroy IT and the company and move in 2 years"

It won't even take 2 years. With the stock and company tanking he is probably looking for a new job now. He is hardly at the office. Usually he is speaking at conferences to promote himself. The only reason he would stay is he is putting all of his "FOF" in positions and many of those are moving to MA. I am not sure those people can do what he is saying that he will accomplish. Frankly, I don't believe he can do what he promised. He is firing people and outsourcing left and right. The moral is at an all time low. If you are gone, I am jealous. No one should ever work here.

FM has his own agenda he will destroy IT and the company and move in 2 years and leave whoever is left to clean up his mess. Sadly SG does not see this. A large portion of IT was outsourced to IBM and all the PM's and BA's in IT were let go yesterday. I think it just started, I hope SG opens her eyes,

I knew of FM at Amazon. He was not very high up and has glamorized his story and position while there. Many of the "FOF" are that out of fear. He will ruin those who go against him. If you were to ask anyone of any position at Amazon they do not know Faisal. Bezos definitely has no clue about FM. He sold a good story to RS and SG bought in. Working at Staples now is very challenging and working for someone like FM makes it even more so.

FM has no morals and to be quite honest since he's joined the organization results have been horrible. Anybody think Bezos tired of his antics and that's the ugly secret.

FM will be the head Integrations Officer when Amazon buys staples for the Contract business segment.

the reality is that Staples hired about 100 mostly low experience contract developers, the equivalent of launching the New Zealand Navy to fight the US Navy (Amazon0. I'm currently making 30% more in cash and adding in my healthcare and stock options brings it to at least 40% more than I made at Staples. My current company has a turnover rate of about 8% per year, I leave Staple's turnover rate to your imagination.

I wonder if he classifies SG as one of the "folks" who is "a little lower". Probably after the earnings report he is looking to leave. CTO of nothing is still nothing.

FM clearly has CEO in his target and he will work to get there at all costs and methods. SG won't know what hit her.
