Now that it's added back to this index, all the index funds and ETF's will have to buy shares in order to make their S&P500 tracking fund(s) track the index, including all of your 401ks that track the index (for those of you non-solder boy lab technicians that don't invest).

The only way intel will retain greatness again is a large layoff to purge all the lab technicians that are just overhead. One can hope....

Urban Outfitters Inc. URBN, +1.82% First Solar Inc. FSLR, -0.25% and Frontier Communications Corp. FTR, +2.69% are being booted from the S&P 500 index after S&P Dow Jones raised its market cap guidelines for the index late Friday. The companies will be replaced on the S&P 500 by Advanced Micro Devices Inc. AMD, +4.35% Raymond James Financial Inc. RJF, +0.10% and Alexandria Real Estate Equities Inc. ARE, -4.30% S&P said. The moves come a--&P raised its guidelines for the index to include companies with market capitalizations of more than $6.1 billion from a previous $5.3 billion. The changes to the index take effect before Monday's market open.
