Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Altice Supervisors in limbo

Altice Offered packages to supervisors the sups that took them have no departure date? Would you like to be stuck? cannot go on job interviews and if you do get a job interview can't give them a start date. Why because the great Altice is giving them the business

Yes they are getting a check but the company doesn't want them let these people go, and mive on with their lives, majority of them were good soldiers did what you ask and look how you treat them selfish company? Any thoughts?

They are heartless scumbags, but this is unfortunately how M&A's unfold. I hope this French POS goes to hell

That's awful wish you the best in your new endeavors. The next job you get if supervising remember what people over your head did to you and please do not repeat the process, you treat people right and you will get production and loyalty and friendship money isn't everything and good luck.

I was one of those supervisors who took the package, I was told that 99.9% i would be extended until 4/30/17. I advised management that since I would be losing my benefits (insurance) I will be taking my sick time to schedule needed appointments before i lose my insurance. I was told by my manager this was fine as long as I schedule them. Then n the later part of January I was told by my manager that sorry but I was not extended and my last day would be 2/17/17. So I scheduled Doctors appointments and scheduled days off. I was told by me manager that I they could not approve time off and that I better check they agreement before I take the sick time because they would be going to HR and advise that I was being uncooperative implying that my package would be in jeopardy. So with that being said I canceled the much needed doctors appointments . I put my health in jeopardy. My manager tried to cover by stating that it was never promised I would be extended and that it was said it was only 99.9 % sure. If I would have known I would have scheduled these appointments when I first accepted the package. was this done on purpose? makes you think. So I took the package and now I need to schedule the much needed appointments with my new insurance, if accepted. To add insult to injury AlticeUsa has screwed up my pay checks for the last 4 weeks. also I returned 2 Samsung boxes to help reduce the cost my monthly bill, yet I received a bill for the upcoming month with no change, I contacted employee accounts they agreed that they saw the return of the STB's and would credit my account , only time will tell, also I have been charged for using the company Gym, If I am not employed for the company why would I be charged. Makes you wonder how are customers bills handled correctly? I am sorry that I went on for so long but as you can tell I am very disappointed in the way my final days were handled, I have always given 110% to this company and i did not get the 99.9% that I was lead to believe. Lessons learned to late.

Did you ever think that maybe the extra time spent pulling a paycheck was OK with them? They don't have any pressure to preform well and there is no uncertainty about the future for them. While they may not be happy about their fate they are not spending their go away money yet.they have more time to consider their options while regular pay money is coming in. More time to plan and decide what direction they will take. Altice supposedly had more people accept the package to leave then they were expecting. Altice needs the IPO to be a good one in order to finance the fiber project as well as give them operational money. It makes them a takeover target for the right group of investors if the IPO does not raise the cash they need.

I know of a Supervisor that was offered, and accepted the 'package' and left about 3-4 weeks ago. The limbo statement does not apply to everyone.

People change so do companies. At least they will have the memories of better times. That's always nice.
