The original post is very much tongue in cheek.
Do you mean PS EQL. I am not aware of any layoffs last week.
been in PS for quite a while , worked my a$$ off to keep my customer happy, had nothing but very positive feedback from customer or manager but since my magic numbers age and time @ emc match the bean counters value I got my package Wednesday. SO don't give me the continue to be a team player speech. Chatting with my ex-team mate all of them have the same opinion , team spirit is out the window.
That's a very naive statement. That will not make you safe from the cuts. Knew someone who was dedicated, hard working team player, delivered great customer sat. and was cut after 30 years. It's about the dollars and maximizing the synergies of the combination of the two companies.
Company core values and being a team player are political words.
There is no morale and employees are putting less then 50% effort in work. All we do is browse internet, chat with each other, kill the day and waiting for our turn to get axed. My team and many other EMC dev/qa engineers haven't worked for the past 2 years.
Losing colleagues hurt and one day it could be me.
Agree with the last reply.
I have seen many high-performing individuals axed.
Saw one man promoted right up the chain, in quick succession, walked right out the door immediately after being promoted up to Sr. Director level. It was quite a shock to everyone.
No one is safe. When it's your turn, it's your turn.
This is so not true.
I was and it didn't matter....
