OP, if this was the pro union page, one would expect a lot of pro union threads on other boards as well ( i.e. on thelayoff board for Verzon or AT&T), which is not the case.
By having wages frozen for 3 years and agreeing to a contract worth 96% of everyone else and paying dues the Brooklyn techs took a major financial hit by voting in the CWA. But I'm sure the union is telling them that it will all be worth it.

How do you figure they would be unemployed at this time? There hasn't been a reduction in field service techs other then by attrition
