It's not about ‘making a profit’ but more like ‘not making enough profit’. One day a company makes a $1-millions profit but the next day it’s only half that. The other half of million is made up by laying-off peopleand then blaming the share holders expectations. Companies like Transdigm have no loyalty to the community and its employees, the death nail for American manufacturing. It appears these types of companies believe that there are qualified people everywhere and when the business tide changes, all they have to do is place a job ad on the internet and presto, the position is filled. Boy!!! they are blinded by their greed.
