Thread regarding CSX Corp. layoffs

Involuntary Separation Program

Here is what the corporate released after today's cuts - this is all over the news for now, are they even aware how angry all employees are? Or is it just me overthinking this - I'd show more humility if I was them...

The small number of employee reductions this week completes the Involuntary Separation Program announced in February with a goal of abolishing 1,000 management jobs. CSX continues to streamline all business functions to meet current and anticipated needs. Individuals whose jobs are abolished as a result will receive severance benefits and outplacement services. These employees made important contributions, and the company is deeply grateful for their service. We thank you for your interest in CSX and will have nothing further to offer on this.

double speak, corporate slang... i hate it, always hated it... i was let go last year and i've moved on. trust me, there is life after csx, if you are in tech and in jax, you'll be fine, there is a ton of jobs - i am in my 50s and i was concerned that there may be some age discrimination when i apply for jobs but it took me about 6 weeks to find a comparable job and my commute is 20 minutes shorter now. god bless
