is another round of layoffs coming for news managers, assignment editors and reporters in Westchester? is Lisa L. and S. and others about to get the boot? did they just find new young blood to do their jobs for half the money with no attitude? the o!d Italian guard in Yonkers is gone forever. it's a shadow of what it was and the end of an era. now the next shoe will drop. did someone say new managing editor who is under 30?

streamlining. from what I hear that assistant news director and managing editor are going. everything will be done thru Woodbury.
my feeling is by the summer we will be gone from yonkers. the news director at wpix told me to look for work in Albany saying she was flooded with resumes from our shop, but didn't seem to be impressed with me or others. what to do? 10 years for nothing. they're going to be asking us to do live shots on our iphones. I know it.
TV News is all about the 24/24/24 rule. Hire 24yo talent, pay them $24k a year and work them 24 hours a day...
they want to make it lean and mean like rnn. one man band. 20 something reporters who will work for peanuts. this is the model. probably by the summer many more will be out the door? handwriting on the wall folks. so sad in yonkers. like a ghost town. memories of what was. no more live shows. no more news decisions. just dust and memories! the gig is up. the worst thing is most of those let go.... or will be let go ....will probably never work in the biz again. the NYC job market is shrinking and most don't have the talent to go national. so its really the end of the line. so sad.
