What if we organized everyone who was let go within the last 10 months by state and see if we can get as many class actions against Staples as possible? How attractive would a declining business with pending legal actions be to a private equity firm? Watch out Staples. You can only step on those beneath the golden parachute level for so long before we organize and rebel.

Severance is based on pay grade. I was in supply chain and I was given 4 months as were most the people I worked with.
4 weeks sounds right. the worst combo is ego + moderate skill + an event of success. deludes you into bad decisions.
you can find people who solve problems and pay them to write software.
or you can hire people who want money and hope they write software.
creating and looting often look the same and looters often believe they are creators. he probably won't figure any of that out, though. the best solution to looters and yes men is to not have a relationship with them.
That's funny that the people you knew got 4 months severance. The ones I know, including me, only got 4 weeks.
I worked for Staples for eight years until I was laid off after the company outsourced the logistics to third party.
I'm reading all the comments about lawsuits and I think it's a waste of time. Most of the employees were given four months notice and a severance package.
I've seen the type often at other corps, I'm not at all surprised at the current outcome, glad I bailed out. they really don't get it. im making 30% more and could make 30% on that if I truly wanted to but it's not worth the annoyance or egos of those guys.
what a joy to be free of them for the foreseeable future.
Don't you know FM and his FOF's are the only "talented" ones. The rest are idiots, according to FM.
supposedly they couldnt find "talent" in boston, now they can't find "talent" in seattle either. wonder if they can find it in fricking san francisco, hahaha
they opened SDL to tap AMZN talent pool but the reality is their salaries are too low and never attracted much and now they have a bad local reputation. that's why the outsourcing to IBM, to cover up the blunders.
I have a complaint going for violation of contract, wrongful termination, s-xual harassment, and hostile work environment. I would say more but with the pending action this is all I can share.
there's actually been a lot of illegal activity. For instance, contractors at the Seattle Development Labs were lied to about permanent positions, and kept over a year in contract positions. Management was notified and ignored it. That's all documented.
And what is the basis of this proposed class action lawsuit? Wrongful termination? Because they're cutting in many areas and varying ages, races, etc. So what exactly do you think you could submit as a lawsuit? I know everyone's angry or worried about losing their jobs, but you can't just file a lawsuit with no basis.
I know the assistant manager class action was filed in NJ.
I am pretty sure former SDO drivers have one working through the system, not sure what state though.
Just thinking we have to get it in the same districts court wise. A person in MA can't file in CA so would have to find the similar cases for termination then find the venue for the lawsuit or arbitration.
I'm pretty sure a class action lawsuit is where multiple people file a single suit because they've all been harmed in the same manner. This would alleviate everybody going it alone. Doesn't make sense to file multiple class actions. Defeats the purpose.
