Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

More activism. Now someone wants to go after Whole Foods.

All I can say is that these activists are good for themselves. Get the share price up and then sell and leave a mess behind. I should of sold my CAB shares around Christmas when they were in the 60's.

So, the Cabelas are the ones here to blame? Why was the news about Singer owning a minority stake in CAB get so much mileage then? Was it theoretically a fake event to stir things up enough that the Cabelas could look like they were not behind it? What gives?

The activist didn't own enough stock to force a sale. That would have been the biggest shareholders....there last name begins with a C. The activist just accelerated the process.
