I survived another day at corporate. Each day is worse that the day before. GT is a mess and FM and FH have no vision or plan. Paper is out everywhere looking for a place to go. I will take anything over this.

10 years as a manager, 9 with good reviews. I got sick in 2014 and was in the hospital for a week.
I came back the following week, starting with light duty, but because of lack of payroll was pretty much forced to unload and break down trucks, put boxed chairs away 15' up, etc.
Even though we made sales, budget and CSAT for 2014, I got a "BE" on my review that year and pushed out in 2015.
That really s---s, are they trying to contest UI???
I've been saying the same thing for a few years, they are firing people for BS reasons to get out of any severance payments and also trying to fight UI. where possible. Many states are of what is going on at Staples and are approving UI even when Staples tries to contest it.
I was fired, and had a phone interview with an unemployment administrator who told me staples was trying to contest my claim, but they had recently fired 10 other managers across the state in two weeks. He asked my side of the story and then told me, off the record, all our stories sounded alike, from all over the state, and they knew Staples was trying to game the system. I was approved and Staples appeal was immediately denied.
The execs have an end game planned out and there are very few people that will benefit.
DMs, RVPs and HO people, start looking now too, because their plans do not include you either!
The plan is this... from the bottom up. To screw everyone they can and get out of dodge with as much loot as possible in their corporate pockets. These clowns care only about their wallets and will screw every hard working associate they can and not even think twice about the trail of destruction about to be left behind.
I was let go after 6 years on friday the 31st. Petty to avoid paying me severance when they sink! They dont care about managers and want part time transient workers for less pay and more hours and workload.
Good one with the D- bag!!
To the person waiting for the company plan... Start looking now - and if something better comes take it ... Unless your one of the lucky ones to get a golden parachute . This ship is sinking and the plan is to get "Senior Leadership" to get biggest Golden Parachutes they can.
As someone already said- they have a plan and most likely won't involve you
How is GT in Lincolnshire/Quill being affected?
they did inform you of the plan.
you aren't paying attention.
FM needs to go to Ebags. What a D bag.
I just wish they would inform us of their plan. At least we could plan and adjust accordingly. Oh wait that is common sense thinking and we don't seem to have that!
If you want to send everything to the cloud and have no staff great. But this everything is fine and help us embrace the cloud attitude can't work for any company. The cloud is great and serves a purpose... any body with a clue in IT will you tell you that there is a balance of both worlds
But, are there any staples? Who cares if you're out of paper...things have been "papered over" for decades... credit was more valuable than "paper..." paper-mills have been shutting down don't ya know...
Maybe FM will be distracted by counting his truckload of cash from ebags.com sale.... We can only hope.
Same feeling here....each day could be the last ....the waiting is the hardest part... NOT....that comes after you see the crappy severance you get for sticking it out for over a decade!
