Because that's all he does, talk. Look at his career, nothing. You think if he did 1/10 of what he's said he's done Amazon would have let him go? Same with his FoFs.
Belittling others is a strong suit though. So if you need a first class spokes person who talks a good game, chastises his opponents, and bullies people in order to fulfill their low sense of self-esteem, hey he's your guy.

From what I heard, this guy was a nobody at Amazon, but talked a good game to Ron Sargent, who hired him. His aspirations go higher than CTO and he has no problem sacrificing underlings to get there
