Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

The future is in marijuana. Like it or not, it will soon be legal in all states and there's no reason why we should have to drive

across the border to get it. Sidney could gain statewide recognition for driving change for all of Nebraska, along with the tax revenue that recreational and medical sales would generate, the opportunity for growing is perfect in the Cheyenne county area. Farmers would have a better cash crop, Sidney would get the tax income, and there would be no need to go to Sedgewick. Everyone wins.

Are you kidding me. You do not know the anti business policy in Sidney. Attend a council meeting. In the last few years I have watched probably 50 small business very upset with the ordinance being passed by the city council. I was in Sterling Colorado and Scottsbluff Nebraska. In sterling Colorado at a parts store and Scottsbluff at the sporting good store at the mall. both places ask me what is wrong with Sidney Nebraska they are trying to drive your small businessmen out of town. The parts store employee told me we in sterling would be very happy to have each of these business in our town. What is wrong with your city government trying to drive hard working good small business out of your town. This is getting region attention. Now the bs with the signs and the bs with the homes.

I do think the policy of stopping people after around 9 pm basically to see if they have been drinking has really hurt the bar owners. another policy of Sidney which is anti small business. I really think most bars in Sidney will be closed soon.

Sidney does not have more crime or drug problems than most towns its size. There's a few bad apples, but overall Sidney is a great wholesome town.

So when the rest of Cabela's employees are laid off it won't hurt so bad because they're high????

Sidney already has more crime and drug problems than most towns its size. an open invite to more drug dealers and drug users would only make the problem worse.

You see the money, I see the problems. Our society (or what is left of it) has already more than enough problems associated with the use of controlled substances. Why are you that sure we as a society would gain any goddamn benefits outweighing all the problems we most certainly would invite into our lives? The crime rate is way too high to overlook this! Society has also a responsibility towards those who come after us!!!! Remember Singapore, there was once also a high crime rate. The solution was swift, without mercy, and most importantly permanent. So, before having this splendid idea of jumping on the narcotics bandwagon, consider the consequences!
