Market share charts are an evidence to Intel's 'Midas touch' ;)

Mediatek came in later than Intel and is in second spot?! Wow.

There were news about Intel finally having CDMA and that'll give it a better chance against Qualcomm?

Intel is #3, have you recalled any business where Intel started behind and came to lead, NEVER, not a good sign of future prospects given the strength of the #1 and #2 aren't pushovers with idiots running their business. Both #1 and #2 ride the ARMy and TSMC silicon which is far better optimized for modem and cost efficiency.

Oh yes, does anyone know where intel modems in this graph are made, yes manufactured at TSMC.

Intel with all it's fancy marketing and powerpoint foils has yet to ship revenue on anything but CPU/x86 on their much superior 14nm process, easier and faster to design in TSMC silicon than Intel.

Intel did not sell any modem chips until acquiring Infineon in 2010/11, presumably the chart there shows the results for Infineon prior to 2011. The trend there is hardly surprising, they have only one customer.

EPIC spectacular decline since 2013 when Aicha and BK took over. Iphone deal last year is just a blip on the screen, hardly moves the needle from ~0% to ~5% marketshare.
