Thread regarding McKesson Corp. layoffs

ATTENTION PATIENT'S of American Hospitals using McKesson Software

Hospital Patient Data (HIPAA safety) is NOW viewable by India Offshore, because McKesson has

laid off American Workers who used to support and assist McKesson Hospital Customers.

Did you as a Patient give consent to have your personal patient data viewed by Un-American workers now

accessible by India and Offshore workers?

Full Patient Name

Social Security Number,

Address,

Date of Birth,

Next Of Kin,

Guarantor Data,

Orders,

Results,

Pharmacy, etc.

Is this a violation of your HIPAA rights caused by McKesson's actions by laying off American Workers

and hiring Indian people offshore and overseas?

And now, you can add the Philippines! How do they get away with this? I hope to God that there are tons of class action law suits coming in the future. And for all the existing Mckesson/CHC customers, good luck calling support and having some incompetent id–ts answer and fumble around!

Offshore does not mean offshore literally. H1B Visas are on the lurch.

NOT true: we setup VMs that offshore has to logon to access the code that they maintain. The source is not located offshore, but on the encrypted VMs on North Druid Hills servers. These users are unable to copy or move data from McKesson Servers, except in the encrypted form, which cannot be decrypted on non-McKesson Servers.

The patients in these accessible databases include DONALD DUCK: WREN, CHRISTOPH M; GODMOTHER, FAIRY L; FIELDMOUSE, MINNIE; FLAVERSHAM, OLIVIA A, etc., etc.

Please check with Walt regarding their HIPAA status.

You'd have to check with the Department of Health and Human Services to find out for sure. From what I've read, it's one of those poorly-defined parts of the law. The Federal Government may not be able to do anything but patients can certainly be made aware of it, and pressure their hospitals to require that their data stay out of the hands of foreign labor.

This is a real issue. Recent news reports documented cases where Indian call centers were ripping off Americans by pretending to be the IRS. Access to our personal information by Indians and other foreigners should be categorically outlawed.

Let's not focus here India! The question is about McKesson and Patient HIPAA

Did the American Patient at American Hospitals that use McKesson Software give consent to have their HIPAA privacy data to be viewed by India offshore people? Is there an issue here? One tends to wonder.

@MAYkRPB-1gnw: Companies, and their executives, that hire Indians deserve everything coming to them. Especially the lawsuits from customers.

Hiring Indians is what destroyed the Horizon ERM product and resulted in massive layoffs and shuttering of the product. Paragon had a chance to compete until MCK started hiring back the same idiots who thought off shoring could succeed, all they had to do was 'tweak it' a bit. This is nothing more than a form of deep incompetence and stunning ineptitude on the part of people who are more interested in making MIPS profits than ensuring the quality of the product.

Paragon has suffered for decades under incompetent leadership. Throwing in hundreds of Indians, many of whom speak minimal English, and expecting the product to see an improvement is an insult to all of the Americans who have spent years working, and re-working, the products. How many American patients will die from this stupidity?

Keep your eyes on the sniveling rat-faced TCS manager in the office. He's not your friend.

The posting is not so much about formatting an article but this:

It's good to see India following the McKesson Layoff Thread. Americans whine a lot? What a disgusting comment from someone from India! Maybe it's from the head honcho himself.

Really? You can tell by this original post why the product is horrid. Do you know why we protect health information? Do you think anyone in India sees any value in this? No! The value they see is taking your job along with your next job. Americans whine a lot
