What the hell does that mean? Because the union now listens and speaks for you, until there is a "contract" signed, THERE ARE NO DUES. PERIOD. Management will NOT tell you that. Until you vote "yes" to a contract agreement, YOU WILL NOT BE PAYING DUES. Once it is signed, then, and only then, will you begin to pay dues. But until a contract is agreed upon, ALL WAGES would be frozen. So, figure it out people. So, what if the negotiations lasts for 2 years, for example?
Hmmmm...... let's see. What would be the result of that? Oh, I know...... YOU'LL STILL BE WORKING !!!
No more "will I be let go tomorrow" syndrome. No more... "OR ELSE" from management. Until you agree, YOU, on a new contract, there is nothing to fear, but your own insecurities. If you didn't earn your keep or worked hard, as most of the other technicians, then you were an embarrassment anyway. If you were to choose "death by electric chair" or "death by hanging", if I were you.... takem' both.... if you're looking for a sure thing.
