Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

"Who's coming with me?"

It'll be interesting to see how many leave for other opportunities after bonus pays out tomorrow. Anyone leaving?

Wrong!!!! Too bad MRO went downhill. It was a great company to work. But, we can't live in the past. Time to move forward.

I don't think we want a CEO with tactical thinking. That's why you're here.

Generally people who s--k don't have the confidence to leave. Those who are confident and don't need to put up with a horrible environment day in day out will take action. Make sense?

Where ever you go, you go with you. If you s---, or you expect egg in your beer then you will be be in the same boat in 18 months.

Don't kid yourself everywhere s---s with $45 dollar oil. Marathon is far better than average. If we had a CEO with any tactical thinking we would be gold. Unfortunately we have a guy like Tillman.

You will never look back. The hardest part is staying for the short period of time after giving your notice. Hopefully you have a couple of weeks off to defrag.

Going to put in my notice next week. Though anxious, just to get away from the toxic atmosphere here will make it worth while. I've done my homework. MUCH less HR involvement at the new place so the new job is eagerly anticipated. Even spoke with three former MRO employees, all agreeing that the new place has much better work environment. Can't wait to see how it will be to be excited to go to work again.

Great question, but I feel that I should point out not to leave too early if you have any near term money coming in.

Also, if you are bailing out for downtown, the woodlands or the energy corridor make sure you can comfortably afford the move.

Finally, and most important, remember your friends back at the Tower. Looting your former employer of their talent is an oilfield tradition.
